Largest Craig Group ship launches

Craig Group has launched its latest platform supply vessel (PSV), the Grampian Sceptre, from the Balenciaga Shipyard in Northern Spain.

Along with its sister vessel, the Grampian Sovereign, it is the largest built by Craig Group. Both new IMT-982 designed vessels have won long term contracts with Talisman Sinopec Energy UK in the North Sea.

The Grampian Sovereign will start work this week while the Grampian Sceptre will start her contract in September later this year. Both will be managed by Craig Group division North Star Shipping.

The vessels are 83m long with an 18m beam and have diesel electric propulsion systems. They have been specifically designed to meet the requirements of operators in the North Sea.

Craig Group's fleet stands at 36 vessels and includes a mix of platform supply, tanker assist, ROV survey, as well as emergency response and rescue vessels.
