Semborp lands two more jack-up orders

Sembcorp Marine’s PPL Shipyard has won two orders for turnkey contracts worth a total US$417million from Mexico's Integradora de Servicios Petroleros Oro Negro.

The orders are for the construction of two jack-up rigs, scheduled for delivery at end July 2015 and end of third quarter 2015.

The units' design will be based on PPL Shipyard’s Pacific Class 400 design.

They will be capable of operating in 400ft deep water and drilling high pressure and high temperature wells to depths of 30,000ft. 

The latest order takes the total number of jack-ups being built by PPL Shipyard for Oro Negro to six. 

Delivery of the first unit is expected in the fourth quarter of this year. A further two are due to be delievered in 2014 and then three in 2015.
