Pemex awards Fugro $31.5 million survey

Mexico’s Pemex awarded an offshore multi-site geophysical and geotechnical survey to Fugro and Constructora Subacuatica Diavaz, S.A. de C.V.

The contract, valued at US$31.5 million, includes offshore operations, laboratory testing and geoconsulting activities that will support design and/or installation of platforms, pipelines, jackups and deepwater facilities.

The survey is set to begin in September 2014 and expected to be complete in May 2015.

In August, Pemex awarded CGG a $200 million contract for ocean bottom cable 3D-4D seismic work in the Ku Maloob Zaap oil field and oil fields of Bay of Campeche in the Gulf of Mexico.

Also last month, Pemex announced the company began a corporate restructure to become more flexible and efficient soon after Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto approved the country’s historic energy reform that overhauled its energy and electricity industries and opening them up to private investment for the first time in decades.
