Atlas secures INPEX contract

Atlas Knowledge has been awarded a contract by INPEX to provide training for production workers involved in the US$34 billion Ichthys LNG project.

The INPEX-operated project includes some of the world’s largest offshore facilities off the coast of Western Australia, massive onshore facilities in Darwin, Northern Territory and an 889km pipeline uniting them.

The multi-year, multi-million dollar agreement will see the leading international learning technology company develop and deliver custom-made training modules and online 3D models of the project’s onshore and offshore production facilities; as well as in-depth process training for the specific systems and equipment used at each asset.

The e-learning will provide all personnel in the integrated operations team with an understanding of the plant, equipment, materials and their associated hazards. Facility-specific modules will take production technicians on an interactive journey to the process area they are assigned to.

Alongside customized e-learning program, Atlas will license modules from their technical library to INPEX to support staff learning and understanding of oil and gas industry fundamentals and processes.

The competency-based training provided by Atlas will be assessed to INPEX, industry and national standards and accessible to staff working across multiple locations simultaneously, allowing efficient learning and development progression across various job disciplines.

It marks a further Australian LNG project win for the technology provider who were previously involved in delivering training for Shell’s Prelude development offshore Western Australia.
