ONS gets new chairman

A senior executive at new joint venture Forsys Subsea has been appointed chairman of the ONS Foundation Board of Directors - the organization behind Norway's biennial ONS conference and exhibition.

Arild Selvig (pictured) is senior vice president and head of front-end, Forsys Subsea, the 50/50 joint venture of FMC Technologies and Technip.

Selvig has worked at Norsk Hydro and FMC Technologies. He has also been a board member of the ONS Foundation since 2011. He will replace Lars Takla, who is retiring.

Selvig says he wishes to continue building on ONS’ strong global position. “ONS is a remarkable meeting place for the international oil and gas industry," he says. "There are bigger events, but I believe ONS is the best, because it attracts a unique mix of operators, suppliers and other decision-makers in the oil and gas industry. No other events manage that.

“Also, the capability to continuously develop the ONS product in terms of new features and improved services is something we will continue to focus on for ONS 2016 and onwards."

ONS runs in Stavanger every other year to SPE Offshore Europe, which is held in Aberdeen and will be on this September. SPE Offshore Europe is supported by OE, which produces the official show daily.
