Eni board member says “irreconcilable differences”

Eni announced that Professor Luigi Zingales, an independent director and member of the control and risk committee and of the nomination committee, resigned from Eni’s board of directors.

The board thanked Professor Zingales for his active contribution, and plans to replace the resigning drector by law.

In a the letter to Eni's board of directors and the board of statutory auditors’ chairman, Zingales cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the resignation.

"I hereby inform you on my irrevocable resignation as a director of Eni SpA, effective from the receipt of this letter, due to irreconcilable differences of opinion on the role of the board of directors in the management of the company," Zingales said in the letter.
