FID for Cameroon FLNG project

French independent Perenco and partner Société Nationale des Hydrocarbures have made their final investment decision on a floating LNG project offshore Cameroon.

The move follows an agreement with Gazprom Marketing & Trading Singapore Pte over gas sales, making GM&TS the sole off-taker from the FLNG terminal.

The project is based on the allocation of 500 Bcf of natural gas reserves to be supplied by SNH and PERCAM from the Sanaga Sud and Ebome fields.

The FLNG terminal will be owned and operated by GOLAR, via its Hilli FLNG vessel, currently under conversion at the Keppel Shipyard in Singapore.

First LNG deliveries from the terminal are scheduled to commence during the second half of 2017.

Keppel is also converting a second FLNG vessel for Golar, the Gimi, which is due to be delivered in 2018 for an as yet unnamed project, and the Gandria, which is due to be used by Ophir Energy offshore Equatorial Guinea on the Fortuna development.

Golar LNG has been in discussion over converting a third GLNG unit.
