Statoil to drill at Cape Vulture with Deepsea Bergen

The Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) has granted Statoil consent to drill an exploration well in block 6608/10 with an option for a sidetrack.

Statoil is the operator of development license 128. The exploration well will be drilled in a prospect named Cape Vulture, with the designation 6608/10-17 S.

Water depth at the site is 375m. 

Drilling is scheduled to begin in November and estimated to last up to 33 days. The estimated duration of an optional sidetrack is 16 days.

Drilling will be performed by the Deepsea Bergen semisubmersible, which is an Aker H3 facility, built in 1983 and operated by Odfjell Drilling.
