Cairn explores off Malta

D.The government of Malta awarded blocks 1, 2, and 3 of Area 3 to Capricorn Malta, a subsidiary of Edinburgh-based Cairn Energy. The blocks are north of Malta and total 6400 sq km. Capricorn Malta will reprocess existing 2D seismic data, acquire and process 1500km of new, 2D seismic data, conduct a study, and assess the exploration potential of the acreage.
