The Pelikan field is located in the Natuna Sea Block A and has 75 Bcf of reserves. First gas is expected next month.

Pelikan follows first gas from the nearby Naga field in November 2014, also located in the Natuna Sea Block A.

Premier says that both Pelikan and Naga will deliver up to 200 billion British thermal unit per day.

Premier operates the Natura Sea Block A with 28.67% interest. Partners include KUFPEC, Pertamina, and Petronas.

The company sanctioned Pelikan and Naga in 1H 2012. Both platforms were tied-on to the Gajah Baru facilities for export via the West Natuna Transportation System (WNTS) pipeline during 1H 2014.

Premier’s Indonesian activity

Premier is producing gas from the Anoa and Gajah Baru gas fields and from the fields in Kakap PSC, also in Natuna Sea Block A. The two PSCs are located next to each other, about 500km northeast of Singapore. Gas from the fields is exported by pipeline to Singapore through the 650km WNTS. Anoa began production in 1990 from nine platform wells, located in the East Lobe.

Kakap consists of 10 separate fields, which have been developed with a combination of platforms and subsea tie-backs to the Kakap FPSO. The field was discovered in 1978 and first production began in March 1986.
