Polarcus Adira begins TGS charter

Published

Polarcus Adira is in transit from Las Palmas to the Gulf of Mexico to begin a 6-month charter for TGS. It will be Polarcus' first project in the US.

The survey for TGS will cover an area of 11,500sq km. It will entail the towing of a large receiver spread comprised of multiple solid streamers each 10km in length, and a specialized source array designed to focus the acoustic energy in a vertical direction.  The program will image both the regional stratigraphy and deep basin structures in the deepwater central Gulf of Mexico.

The purpose-built 3D seismic vessel is equipped with technology to minimize the operation's environmental footprint. It was awarded the highest achievable Triple-E environmental and energy efficiency rating by DNV GL.
