SeaBird Exploration Plc announced that the survey vessel, Aquila Explorer, received a letter of award for a 2D seismic survey in Australasia.

The survey will cover a minimum of 10,000km and will have an estimated value of approximately US$11 million.

The project is expected to start in Q4 2014 and will have an estimated duration of 90 days based on the minimum survey size.

In April, Aquila Explorer completed an acquisition of the Mohua survey in the Taranaki basin off New Zealand.
