Eni will drill well 7122/10-1 S in the southwestern sector of the Barents to investigate the exploration prospect named Goliat Eye in production license 697. The well is at 342m water depth.

Drilling is scheduled to begin in the first half of September, and will last at least 37 days.

The well is to be drilled by the Scarabeo 8 mobile drilling facility, operated by Saipem Norge.

The PSA also gave Eni consent to use the Floatel Endurance mobile accommodation facility on the Goliat field in the Barents Sea.

Due to the extra work on the Goliat field, Eni requires more cabin capacity, and has therefore applied to the PSA for consent to use the Floatel Endurance semisubmersible mobile accommodation facility as a floatel.

Floatel Endurance will be dynamically positioned and linked to the Goliat facility by a telescopic footbridge, says the PSA.

The consent applies for the period 20 August to 15 November 2017.
