Magseis begins Barents multi-client program

Published

Magseis announced that it has started a multi-client program in the Barents Sea.

The survey builds on previous work conducted in the Barents Sea for Statoil and Lundin Petroleum and where the company’s Marine Autonomous Seismic System (MASS) has delivered a significant uplift in imaging relative to regular streamer seismic.

The program has already secured significant pre-funding and is expected to take two to three months depending on weather.

Magseis is a rapidly growing Norwegian geophysical company which has developed new technology for ocean bottom seismic (OBS) acquisition. The company's proprietary MASS has been developed with the purpose of significantly improving the efficiency of OBS operations. The company is headquartered in Oslo, Norway and has offices in Bergen, Norway and Stockholm, Sweden.
