Acteon acquires Viking Seatech, divests Mirage Machines

UK-based subsea services group Acteon has acquired Viking Seatech Group, following regulatory clearance.

The move follows the sale of its Mirage Machines business to Actuant, a US corporation.

Aberdeen-based Viking Seatech is a provider of marine services to the energy industry, with more than 25 years experience operating on the UK Continental Shelf and beyond.

Mirage Machines designs and manufactures portable machine tools from its headquarters in Derby, UK .

Acteon executive VP Paul Alcock said: “The addition of Viking Seatech to Acteon allows us to further respond to the needs of our clients working in the area of dynamic and critical infrastructure, offering an end-to-end service in the regions where they are operating, delivering consistent, efficient, safe and reliable services and reducing the need for multiple points of contact.”

Viking Seatech’s services will compliment those of Acteon group mooring services firm InterMoor in foundation solutions and offshore installations, whilst extending Acteon’s client reach and capabilities in rental and engineering, as well as chain inspection and survey in Australia.

Mark Jones, global CEO of InterMoor, added: “The synergies between Viking Seatech and InterMoor, in terms of our complimentary assets and aligned values, mean we can enhance our offering to clients with locations in key hubs around the world, combining global strength with local expertise.”
