Swire Oilfield Services names new CEO

Swire Oilfield Services announced that Manfred Vonlanthen will succeed John Bruce Rae-Smith as the company’s chief executive officer (CEO).

Rae-Smith will be stepping down as CEO of Swire Oilfield Services due to personal reasons.

Vonlanthen joined Swire in 2014 as general manager for the Norwegian division, before advancing to director of North Sea in September 2016, where, in addition to managing the North Sea business, he has been a key member of the executive management team. Vonlanthen brings a depth of technical and commercial experience to his new role, having previously held several senior management positions across a variety of industries including agricultural machinery, oil and gas technology, and offshore logistics.

“I am delighted and honored to have the opportunity to lead Swire Oilfield Services in the next exciting stage of its development. Our extended service diversification reflects the continually evolving nature of Swire Oilfield Services but also the industry as a whole,” says Vonlanthen.
