GustoMSC appoints Houston GM

GustoMSC has appointed Alberto Morandi to the position of general manager of GustoMSC’s office in Houston. He will be responsible for running the office and will act as point of contact for GustoMSC’s US clients.

GustoMSC’s US office represents the company’s design solutions, associated hardware and specialist consultancy and engineering services in the local markets of the US and the Americas. “We are very fortunate to have [Morandi] join us as with his valuable expertise and experience we continue to strengthen our position in offering services to our important US client base,” said Nils van Nood, CEO, GustoMSC.

With this appointment, GustoMSC aims to further ensure close working relations with its local clients and to facilitate easy access to the technical expertise of its headquarters in the Netherlands.

Morandi had been with Global Maritime for over 18 years where he held a number of senior managerial and technical positions in Houston, London and Rio de Janeiro. He has a PhD from the University of Glasgow in reliability of marine structures and an MSc in naval architecture from the University of São Paulo and is also a Chartered Engineer in the UK and a Professional Engineer in the state of Texas, contributing to technical committees and developing international standards and industry practices.
