The well is expected to take approximately 62 days to drill and complete. The tie-in of the well to the FPSO for production commencement is expected in the later part of Q4 2017. The well is expected to add an additional 6000-7000 b/d to the field’s current production.

The Oyo field is about 75km from the coast, ranging from 200-500m water depth. It is in OML 120, which Erin Energy holds 100% stake.

In June, Erin said it had expectations to double its production from Oyo, with the Oyo-9 well.
