OTC15: Petrobras highlights pre-salt technologies

At the 2015 Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), Petrobras will receive the OTC Distinguished Achievement Award for Companies, Organizations, and Institutions – the highest recognition that an oil company can receive as an offshore operator.

The company was chosen in recognition of the set of technologies it has developed for production in the pre-salt layer, and the award will be received by Director Solange Guedes.



On Monday, 4 May, at 2 p.m. CST, Brazil’s Minister of Mines and Energy, Eduardo Braga, and Petrobras Directors Guedes, Hugo Repsold and Roberto Moro will visit the company’s booth at the fair. This space will feature audiovisual and interactive content about Petrobras’ pioneering technologies for pre-salt exploration and production.



On Tuesday, 5 May, Guedes will give a talk on Pre-Salt: What Has Been Done So Far and What is Coming Ahead, from 12:15 to 1:45 p.m..

On the same day, from 9:30 a.m. - 12 p.m., there will be a technical session about pre-salt, called Pre-Salt: 8-Year Journey from the Wildcat Well to more than Half-million Barrels per Day. This session, which will be opened by Petrobras’ Executive Manager for the Libra Area, Anelise Lara, will be divided into seven presentations, all given by Petrobras technicians and executives. On the afternoon of the same day, from 2-4:30 p.m., the work undertaken in the Sapinhoáand Lula Nordeste pre-salt fields will be examined in a session called SapinhoáLula NE – Project Challenges & Lessons Learned.



On 6 May, Petrobras technicians will present their work regarding safety processes in offshore operations, during the Offshore Process Safety: Past, Present and Future session, from 2-4:30 p.m..



Petrobras to participate in other events alongside the OTC



Petrobras will participate in two parallel events. The advisor to Petrobras’ CEO on local content and executive coordinator of the Program to Mobilize the National Oil and Gas Industry (Prominp), Paulo Alonso, will give a talk during a seminar called Providing goods and services for the oil industry in Brazil: opportunities for foreign suppliers in a new scenario, which is aimed at attracting foreign companies to Brazil. This event will take place at the Crowne Plaza Houston on Monday, 4 May, starting at 2 p.m.

Petrobras’ market development manager in the materials area, Ronaldo Martins, will also be speaking at the event.

In addition, Alonso will be giving a presentation on Marine Demands for 2020-2030: Local Content and Opportunities in a New Environment during an event organized by the Brazil-Texas Chamber of Commerce (Bratecc), on 6 May, from 7-10:30 a.m., at The Westin Galleria.

At the same event, Petrobras’ executive manager for Exploration and Production Services, Cristina Pinho, will be addressing the topic of A New Business Model Applied to Upstream Logistics.
