Wood Group CFO announces retirement

Alan Semple, Wood Group chief financial officer (CFO) intends to retire and step down from his current role and from the board at the company's annual general meeting in May 2015.

May marks 19 years in which Semple has held senior financial roles with Wood Group.  Semple has been CFO and a member of the board since 2000.

David Kemp, CFO of Wood Group PSN will succeed Semple and will join the board as an executive director following the 2015 annual general meeting. To ensure effective management of this change, Kemp will assume the role of deputy CFO from 1 January 2015.

Recognizing the breadth of Wood Group's operations, and its longer-term growth potential, the board is also creating a new role of chief operating officer (COO). Robin Watson, currently CEO of Wood Group PSN is to be appointed COO during the 1H 2015 with responsibility for the three strategic business units - Wood Group PSN, Wood Group Mustang and Wood Group Kenny. The timing of this move will depend on appointing a suitable successor for Watson in his current role.

Watson became CEO of Wood Group PSN in 2012 and appointed to the board on 1 January 2013. He joined the business in 2010 and has over 30 years engineering and industry experience.
