Milton Roy upgrades SOLAROY series

Milton Roy, manufacturer of controlled volume pumps, recently enhanced its SOLAROY series of solar-powered metering pumps.

The SOLAROY series feature an enhanced drive engineered to accommodate target-end load force. New radial bearings aim to reduce frictional losses and increase the performance balance between torque and motor efficiency. The pumps also offer new self-diagnostic capabilities.

The SOLAROY series of chemical injection pumps are designed for harsh environments and remote locations where power is not available.  A solar panel is used to charge a 12V battery which powers the metering pumps to deliver corrosion inhibitors and other chemicals that improve flow and enhance product recovery for shale oil and gas extraction.

The pumps are on display in booth 407 at the Turbomachinery Pump Symposia, taking place 23-25 September, at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston.

“Most of the competitive pumps for this marketplace rely on adjustable pack pumping technology that requires adjustments over time,” Coogan Cameron, SOLAROY global product line manager for Milton Roy, said. “These adjustments increase drag that not only diminishes performance, but also increases the power draw needed to operate the pump.  Our self-contained liquid ends don’t require adjustments, resulting in better performance, more reliability and greater overall value.”

Milton Roy is a brand of Accudyne Industries.
