Odfjell Drilling wins Statoil contract

Statoil awarded Odfjell Well Services a contract for tubular running services and rental services on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS).

The frame agreement is for tubular running services on a selection of Statoil’s installations on the NCS that could possibly be for a duration of 10 years. The contract begins in January 2015 for six years and comes with two two-year options.

Odfjell Well Services, a division of Odfjell Drilling, also provides well intervention services in more than 20 countries in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia.

In the past six months, Odfjell Well Services has acquired several new and prolonged existing contracts estimated at a total of US$250 million, including the Statoil contract.

In June, it was announced that Odfjell Drilling will take delivery of the new semisubmersible rig Deepsea Aberdeen in October or November. Deepsea Aberdeen is a sixth generation ultra deepwater and harsh environment semisubmersible that is scheduled to perform drilling operations West of Shetland under a seven-year contract with BP.
