OilOnline,OHH aid industry families

OilOnline and Oilfield Helping Hands are partnering to make a difference in the lives of oilfield families in need. The two organizations are launching a “Profile Share” partnership to raise awareness and funds for oil & gas families in financial crisis. This is an opportunity for those in the oil and gas industry to lend support to each other.

This campaign kicks off on May 1st, when OilOnline, an AtComedia oil and gas career resource website, will donate one dollar for each new profile created on their site. In addition, it will donate 25% of its advertising revenue to Oilfield Helping Hands for the month of May. Oilfield Helping Hands will take these funds to carry on its mission in assisting oilfield families in crisis. For over a decade, Oilfield Helping Hands has provided more than US$2.4 million to industry workers and their families, and continues to work in the most economical fashion to maximize the funds available to recipients each year.

Oilfield Helping Hands President Gary Brooks said, “We are excited about the potential of this partnership, which will greatly increase industry awareness of our organization and raise monies to help oilfield families in crisis, through no fault of their own. Oilfield Helping Hands depends on support from funds generated from events, corporate sponsors, corporate memberships, donations, foundations and employee-choice programs. This effort will add another layer to our fundraising efforts to help even more families.”

Brion Palmer, AtComedia president, said, “There is no ceiling on what AtComedia will donate to Oilfield Helping Hands during this promotion and we challenge the industry to force us to write a very large check.” AtComedia will also recognize the companies that advertise in a special “Thank You” ad published on OilOnline and in AtComedia’s Offshore Engineer (OE) magazine.

Palmer added, “It also offers the added value of giving back to the oilfield community by helping families struggling with personal crisis. OilOnline is a website committed to helping each individual in the oil and gas industry manage their career. With this promotion, OilOnline can even help those from the industry facing a more important challenge. Now, that is rewarding.”

The “Profile Share” partnership will also have a significant presence at the upcoming 2014 Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), May 5-9th in Houston. Anyone attending OTC is invited to come by the AtComedia/OilOnline/Offshore Engineer booth #4656 and complete their OilOnline registration in order to contribute to Oilfield Helping Hands. The process only takes a few minutes, and if the registrant has a LinkedIn account, much of their profile will auto-populate into the OilOnline template.
