Increased automation offshore means oil & gas companies have far more systems that are vulnerable to computer viruses. Gregory Hale and Eric Byres discuss and answer questions on how companies should be reassessing their security concerns to protect their data assets.

Gregory Hale is the editor and founder of the Industrial Safety and Security Source (ISSSource.com). A news and information web site covering safety and security issues in the manufacturing automation sector.

Hale has over 30 years in the publishing industry, covering manufacturing automation for 10 years as the Chief Editor of the InTech magazine. Prior to starting at InTech in 1999, Hale was Editor in Chief at Post- Newsweek’s Reseller Management magazine and Managing Editor at leading computer industry publication, Computer Reseller News (CRN).

In his daily newspaper days, he was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize by the Times Herald-Record for his work in the Tawana Brawley case. In addition, he is the co-author of the book, “Automation made Easy” “Everything You Wanted to Know About Automation – and Need to Ask”.
