Global Tubing develops DURACOIL

Published

Global Tubing, a provider of coiled tubing products and services, has developed a new coiled tubing product, DURACOIL.

DURACOIL has been designed to improve tubing fatigue life, predictability and resistance to abrasion, which minimizes downtime due to pipe failures, and make it less susceptible to preferential corrosion and microbial induced corrosion (MIC) than conventional coiled tubing.

Global Tubing utilizes its patent pending process, halo induction technology, to manufacture DURACOIL, quench and tempered coiled tubing. Other products may utilize a two-step manufacturing process that requires additional handling during manufacture which can damage the tubing and produce an unpredictable final product.  Halo induction technology, however, is an in-line production process that is meant to prevent such damage while providing consistency and manufacturing reliability.

“Coiled tubing operations are increasing in complexity, and DURACOIL is the optimal solution for challenging completions, complicated interventions and well services in harsh downhole environments,” said Neal Lux, president, Global Tubing.
