Oceaneering Wins Wintershall ROV Work

Oceaneering International said it has secured a contract to provide integrated remotely operated underwater vehicle (ROV) services for Wintershall offshore Norway.

The deal covers ROV services for the Northern Drilling Moss Maritime CS-60Mk type drilling unit West Mira, which will perform production drilling on Wintershall Norge-operated fields in the Norwegian Continental Shelf, including Vega and Nova in the North Sea and Maria in the Norwegian Sea, as well as exploration drilling.

The ROV work will include installation of hangar systems, remote onshore mission support services, BOP tethering systems, subsea landing bases, ROV tooling and engineering services.

The contract duration is for three years with two, two-year options to extend, Oceaneering said.

Erik Sæstad, Oceaneering’s VP & Country Manager - Norway, said the operations will be supported from the the company’s Mission Support Center in Stavanger.
